Majeng Land Restitution Claims

Details: OneWorld was commissioned to conduct an Integrated Development and Business Plan for a group of 200 families from the Majeng farms in the Kimberley area. This group had been forcibly removed from the Majeng farms but have been awarded the rights to the farms after a ten-year land claims case. The project entails:

  • Conducting a socio-economic survey of the land claimants
  • Assessing the land use possibilities including mineral rights and agriculture
  • Assessing services and amenities available to the Majeng farms
  • Conducting a scoping EIA
  • Town planning
  • Capacity building for the community and the MCPA
  • Business plan and feasibility study
